This hands-on device allows the student to develop competence in operating, programming, and troubleshooting an actual industrial programmable logic controller. The hardware in combination with a student activity manual and instructor guide creates a curriculum that begins with basic wiring concepts and continues incorporating circuits, ladder logic, programming, and troubleshooting. Additionally, the device can be combined with other products relating to hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, and pneumatic robots. This device through intensive hands-on activity, will help the student rapidly attain plan understanding of PLC use, as well as programming competency.

FEATURES Brushed-steel mounting panel with an Allen-Bradley SLC-100 controller (other controllers available). Steel base/work surface. 24-VDC power supply (fused, with ground). (8) Combination lights and switches (4 momentary and 4 maintained, each with 2 normally open and 2 normally closed). Input and output interface using banana jack connectors. Optional use of built-in input/output devices or user defined external devices (10 inputs and 6 outputs). All features identified with silkscreened nomenclature. Programming pendant with PLC connector. EEPROM memory module for saving student programs. Courseware including student manual/exercise guide and instructor guide, addressing 22 units of instructional material with exercises. Each unit addresses objectives relating to background study, observational/hands-on experiments, and applications in industry. Major unit groups include; introductory material (circuits, boolean algebra, ladder logic diagrams, etc.), basic PLC functions (inputs/outputs, relays, "and" and "or" circuits, latching relays, program editing, etc.), and output functions (timers, counters, cascading timers, output sequencing, shift registers, etc.).
