This realistic PLC training application demonstrates a closed loop process
control system. Through an assortment of temperature and pressure sensing
components, students learn how water is heated to a preset temperature,
which can be adjusted and maintained manually or automatically using universal
controllers or the DAC SLC-500 PLC trainer. Students also learn how flow
rate affects temperature as liquid is routed manually or automatically through
a two-tank circulation and storage system.
The curriculum consists of trainer familiarization and initialization,
temperature control using the universal controller, and analog temperature
control using the DAC, #463 PLC training system.
This device, when connected to the SLC-500 PLC with a SLC 5/02 processor,
allows for continuous analog monitoring and control of the process. |
